Italian photographer Dan Bannino has a thing for chickens… and unlike the rest of us, it’s not to eat them. After having read an article on the species — an ancient breed of small crested and bearded chicken — he traveled to Padua to meet Andrea Pozzato who happened to be growing and looking after flock. Seeing the chicks with their tousled manes, Bannino decides that the only reasonable thing to do is — of course — pose them under iridescent lighting for his camera and have them strut their stuff.
