March 8 — Miramar Cultural Center at 8pm
If you’re not yet familiar with Emeline Michel or Boukman Eksperyans‘ music, prepare to be delighted! Internationally renowned “for combining traditional rhythms with social, political and inspirational content”, Emeline’s songs are influenced by the sounds Haitian compas, twoubadou, and rara.
While seeing her perform live is reason enough to head to the Miramar Cultural Center, she’ll be joined by Grammy Award-nominated musical group, Boukman Eksperyans, in a “fusion of traditional Haitian and Caribbean rhythms with rock and reggae”.
Do I think that this will be one ridiculously amazing show? My spidey-senses tell me yes!
…and keeping in line with the site’s theme, below she and Nadege Fleurimond chat & cook “Mais Moulin” served it with a side salad.
